I'm planning ahead
I'm still trying to figure out how to get out of going to church on Mother's Day. They hand out roses to all the mothers, and to make matters worse...they have the kids do it if they are in the service. The deacons hand them out to the mothers whose children aren't there. Last year a man came up and asked me if I'd gotten my rose. I burst into tears. I will not go through that again this year!! I miss my babies!!!

one of my lowest lows was at a church service on mother's day at my sister's church.(close to my second loss)
They called for all the mothers to come up to the alter to be prayed over - I looked around and I was about the only female left sitting. I will definately be thinking of you that day
thank you for the hair compliment
Go to the bathroom right before they do that, or sleep in.
Or if you are really brave, have your husband give you one since technially you are a mother.
I'm hoping you can find a way out of it. Sending lots of hugs your way!
Come to Houston and visit me!!! LOL... I am praying for you!
Don't go -- if you're already fretting about it it is not worth it. Been there, done that, understand totally.
God WILL understand. You can pray anywhere and honor HIM at anytime. You know that.
Give yourself permission to be absent. And give an excuse of being out of town or something like that.
I am seriously thinking of skipping it this year, too, even though we have our "Referral" . . . I am just afraid of jinxing it or something. And/or having everyone stare at my non-pregnant belly.
Janna, you are a mommy....AND you are a mommy-to-be...at our church in the past, they would hand out flowers to the mommy-to-be's as well...
You do what you feel is best for YOU! I agree with Ms.J....you can worship and honor God wherever you are!!
Hey, I gave you an award today... come by and pick it up! :)
Love you friend!

If your up for a road trip, you can swing by my church. Mother's Day is just like any other Sunday for us.
Since that is probably unlikely, though, I offer my heartfelt understanding hope you find a way to endure the day. Hopefully, you won't be bombarded with tactless comments.
Grrr.
